Death, where is your sting?!'

These days I often find myself immersed into the meditations about that other kingdom... spiritual kingdom... in fact, I become so fully absorbed into these meditations that it truly become irrelevant if I am at home, alone in prayer, or on the beach amongst the noisy people, that great Kingdom of our Lord and Father Jesus Christ is ever before my spiritual eyes... while at the same time this tangible material world of our five senses seems to me to be more distant and so to speak 'unreal' than ever...

Following that 'mood' and inner 'orientation' of mine... I also commenced the other day to read again that beautiful revelation named 'Bishop Martin – progress of a soul in the beyond' (received from Jesus Christ by Jakob Lorber)...  and while in deep awe and silent adoration before His immense Fatherly love, mercy, patience and meekness with aid of which He led that unfaithful servant of His towards unimaginable heights of light and bliss... and while at the same time meditating upon the similar realities via my dear E.Swedenborg's 'Heaven and Hell' (= following these contemplations I also start to translate into my native Croatian tongue that remarkable little note-book of Sundar Singh, 'Visions from the spiritual world', in which again the same is described and discussed), I noticed how peacefully and calmly I am thinking about, and consequently expecting, the hour of death:

... how longingly and with tacit joy I am waiting for that hour of liberation from this material body of mine:

... and also how deep is my yearning for that true Homeland of ours:

‘For a person who complies with My commandments of love, who thus lives on Earth in accordance with My will, has no fear of death but yearns to shed his earthly cover because he longs for his true home, because love has kindled a bright light in him and, looking ahead, he also knows himself to be near to Me, where no suffering and pain, no affliction can touch him, where he feels sheltered by My love….’

In fact, it would be more proper, and also much more close to the truth, to say that I am 'blissfuly calm' while 'joyfully expecting' that 'little' change of the environment! :) :

What a beautiful and happy thoughts are these, my dear friends,

... and not just that, it is offered to us that this eternal life of constant progress and perfection, a life of ever growing bliss and joy, we live in the very Presence of our beloved God and Father, Jesus Christ!:

'Wherever you want to go here (in the upper spheres of the heavens) you will find Me completely at home. Go to as many of these little dwellings visible to you as you like, and you can be assured of finding Me in each one as a perfect host... Now, as I am well aware of the attitude that majority of the human beings have toward death, i.e. being constantly amongst the people I am more than cognizant of their very low level of awarenes in relation to the continuation of our life in the spiritual world when our material body dies, i.e. when is discarded... and also of their subsequent state of mind, i.e. soul torments which are experienced by them when in this or that manner they are faced with the thoughts of death,

[Unfortunatelly, people are nowadays faced with this thought either when somebody they know dies,

‘People’s attention will therefore be ever more obviously drawn to the fleeting nature of what they value too highly. People are snatched away in the midst of their lives, and from this everyone could learn to regard his life, too, as a gift that could be taken away from him any day… And he would only have to pursue the thoughts arising in him in the event of a fellow human being’s sudden death…. He would only have to pursue the departed soul into infinity…. He would only have to think more often of him, who did not cease to exist but merely changed his abode…. And truly, hands would extend to him from the spiritual realm to draw him up… Yet even if the human being lacks the certainty of life after death he should nevertheless expect the possibility and time and again visualise this possibility when other people die and question what his own fate might be if he were to be called away suddenly.’  (As revealed by our Lord and Father Jesus Christ through Bertha Dudde, nr. 6625, August 18, 1956)

or is deadly ill, or when they, themselves, become seriously ill and conseqently they are forced to think about the end of their earthly life; in both cases, these 'harsh measures' are nothing else but our Father's mercifuly endeavour to remind them, them who live their life carelessly, i.e. without thinking about their eternal destiny and what is required from them to acquire a blissful and not a dreadful one, that they will not live here forever, and that they need to prepare themselves for that inevitable departure from this world!

‘People are repeatedly reminded of the transience of earthly things, and they are constantly confronted by death when many people pass away prematurely and when they are helpless in the face of events which cause suffering and despair to human beings. Yet they will not change their mind nor think about the real reason for suffering and untimely death. Thus the suffering becomes ever more painful and humanity will observe world events with horror and turn numb at the size of the disaster that engulfs it. Humanity, however, is asking for it, since the despair of the time leaves people entirely indifferent and they derive no gain for their souls. And therefore God applies the harshest measures to disturb their lethargy, because in spite of people’s earthly and bodily suffering their souls remain uncaring, they remain indifferent to the blows of fate or they would attempt to change in the knowledge that their spiritual attitude is the cause of the increased suffering on earth.’   (As revealed by our Lord and Father Jesus Christ through Bertha Dudde, nr. 3258, September 16, 1944)]

Following that I am also congnizant of my task as given to me by the Lord, namely:

‘The people should be informed that I had defeated death, that death need never ever be experienced again by anyone who follows Me, who wants to receive the blessing of My act of Salvation and who thus leads the kind of life that I had lived on earth.’   (As received from our Lord and Father Jesus Christ through Bertha Dudde, nr. 7320, March 29, 1959)

And as a consequence of all that, i.e. with that view and goal in my mind, I decided to reveal here and share with you another greater than great benefit that was brought into my life by Living Presence of Jesus Christ, to wit, by and through my recognition and acceptance of Him as my God, My Saviour and Redeemer, namely, a complete 'victory over death'!

It is of utmost importance to realize that without this just mentioned 'conscious cognition and acceptance', no one, alone or by himself (= by his own efforts), can liberate his soul from the shackles of death, i.e. his great guilt of sin of ancient apostasy is still burdening him (for better understanding of this line of thought, please see my compilation 'First Creation of God, The Fall of Lucifer and Primordial angels & God's Eternal Plan of Salvation...' at file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/Desktop/akademija/dudde_eng_frame.html + Downloads), and consequently, his soul is still unredeemed, he is without light and necessary strength needed to overcome that unsatisfactory condition, and again as a consequence of that, he is permeated with the fear of what death will bring to him:

Jesus’ resurrection took the sting out of death….

Every person’s final hour is preordained…. And yet he need not fear it because it is not his actual end, instead, he will arise again…. because his soul will merely discard its earthly shell, which was only a shackle for it in earthly life, and enter the kingdom of the beyond unburdened, providing that its way of life on earth corresponded to My will…. that his soul therefore attained a specific degree of maturity on earth. Thus, there is no end, even though there is death, i.e. a dead state of the soul, the soul will not have perished. This is the reason why I died on the cross and arose on the third day again, so that the human being, that is, his soul, can also experience the resurrection, so that it can arise from the grave and enter the kingdom again, which is its true home.

The fact that the soul will not cease to exist is an irrevocable law because…. everything that came forth from Me…. is and will remain imperishable. And the soul is the spiritual being which originated from Me, thus it continues to exist even though the body will die, but the fact that it can arise after its physical death in light and radiance only became possible after My crucifixion and My resurrection, because before this it was still burdened by the original sin of its past apostasy from Me….  There was still darkness, the dark of the grave, which the soul was unable to escape…. the tombstone had not yet been removed by Jesus Christ, the divine Redeemer…. in other words: the atonement for these souls had not been rendered as yet and without atonement the guilt of sin could not be redeemed…. Consequently, there was also darkness in people’s souls, they lacked all faith in a resurrection after death, they were engulfed by the bleak night of the grave and death had become a fearful event….

And I rose on the third day from the dead to provide people with the evidence that the body’s death is not the end, that the soul will rise again and merely leave the body behind, which is not so spiritualised as yet that it can take it along into the spiritual kingdom as I was indeed able to do because body and soul were clothed in a spiritual garment and the body no longer needed to go through a further maturing process on this earth…. Through My resurrection I wanted to take people’s fear of death away, I wanted to prove to them that the soul merely changes location when it discards the earthly body, when the inevitable hour of death strikes. For this reason I have risen from the dead, for I conquered death, i.e. the one who had brought death into the world. And so no person needs to be afraid of the hour of death, for it is only the entrance into the actual life which is everlasting….

Death has lost its sting…. Nevertheless it is necessary that the human being acknowledges My act of Salvation and accepts the blessings I acquired for you through My suffering and dying on the cross…. that he allows himself to be redeemed by Jesus Christ, that therefore his original sin will have been atoned first so that Jesus Christ can subsequently push the tombstone away for the soul to rise from the grave’s darkness into bright light, that it thus will enter eternal life…. Anyone who fears the hour of death is still subject to this immense guilt, he has not found salvation through Jesus Christ as yet, he has not released himself from the darkness enshrouding him, he still lays in the grave of his sin, even though his body still lives on earth…. For he will lose all fear of physical death when he has placed himself into My arms, when he sincerely appeals to Me to take care of him at the hour of his death…. For he will blissfully fall asleep in peace with his God and Father, he will leave only his body behind on this earth while the soul will arise, it will ascend to the light, it will not feel the darkness of the grave surrounding it, for Jesus Christ Himself will take its hand and lead it out of its physical shell, He will guide it through the gate of life. And it will know that it, too, has risen from the dead, that it will now live in eternity….

The fact that the human being Jesus rose from the dead is certainly true, and those who believe in Him as the Son of God and Redeemer of the world, as My Emissary in Whom I embodied Myself on earth, will not be afraid of their own hour of death, for Jesus Christ gave them the promise that He will go to prepare a place for those who believe in Him (John 14:2, 3)…. Thus they will also be raised to eternal life and He Himself will fetch them as He has promised…. Amen

In yet another words, this ‘blissful calm’ and this ‘joyful expectation’ about which I spoke above, and which were also known to our dear Paul,

‘We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.’ 2 Corinthians 5:8

‘For I am… having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better!’  Philippians 1:23

is impossible to achieve by somebody who is still unredeemed, i.e. who lives his life without Divine Redeemer Jesus Christ = who didn’t as yet recognized God Almighty in Jesus (Matthew 28:18; Revelation 1:8) and accepted Him as his Savior and Redeemer, who did not placed himself under His cross:

‘…Yet you ought to remember the One Who has overcome death.... Jesus Christ wants to awaken you to life, He wants to give you an eternally-indestructible life which you shall never lose again. Accept His gift of grace, remember Him during fearful hours and commend your soul to Him, and appeal to Him not to let it fall prey to death, but to have mercy on it and to help it attain life…. And, truly, you will not have sent your appeal to Him in vain…. Your fear will disappear to be replaced by blissful calm, a calm which only Jesus Christ can bestow upon the soul. The living faith in Jesus Christ dispels all dread of death, for the human being knows that he will rise again, just as Jesus Christ arose on the third day. 

But anyone without this faith in Him will fear death or believe that he will cease to exist, that he will return into oblivion from where he imagines himself to have emerged…. And he, as well as all others who lived on earth without Christ, will have a rude awakening…. And it will take a long time until they are convinced that they have not perished, but that they can only escape their lifeless state if they call upon the One Whom they refused to acknowledge on earth, but Who alone can give them life again…. Death need only be the transition into a new and immortal life…. It need not worry people on any account, because Jesus Christ has prevailed over it, because He accomplished the act of Salvation in order to deliver people from a condition which had been brought into the world by His adversary…. But Jesus’ act of Salvation and resurrection are not properly valued by people.... Many know of them and yet do not believe, and therefore they are also unable to derive the benefit from the effects of the act of Salvation and resurrection…. But the living faith gives people firm confidence and therefore also removes their every fear of death…. And these will blissfully fall asleep in the Lord and joyfully awaken with Him in the kingdom of light and beatitude…. For they will eternally not taste death again, they will only ever have eternal life…. Amen’

In yet another words, it is like we were infected and now have in us an deadly disease, for which a cure was found and is now available to all of us. Moreover, we even have in our vicinity a Doctor who inventend that very cure and prescribed it for our use... furthermore, He even freely gave the same to us (Isaiah 55:1, Revelation 21:6; 22:17)!

But despite all of this, we, in our stubborness, are not using or consumming it... and consequently we are still deadly ill and about to die despite the fact that this illness was overcomed by that Doctor's endeavour and skill and so, potentially healed in us!

So, this 'taking or consumming of that cure' would be nothing else but recognizing and accepting Jesus Christ as Only true God (1 John 5:20), i.e. Jehovah incarnated (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Collosians 2:9), and consequently as our Saviour and Redeemer (Isaiah 45:21, 22; 43:11; 49:6; 54:5; Hosea 13:4), and, as consequence of that and most obvious proof of our living faith, to live our life in accordance with His most Holy Will and living Example:

'I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps My word, he will never see death.' John 8:51

('To keep His Word' amount to the same as 'living in accordance with His commandments of Love'; 'seeing death' which is mentioned here must be understood in two ways, first from our earthly perspective as a 'fear of death', or 'our soul's unconscious awareness of those dreadful conditions that are awaiting for it while she is still in unredeemed condition', and secondly, from our spiritual perspective, as that 'very experience of those painful states in the beyond'; in another words, 'dead souls in the beyond are, and will be, well aware of their pitiful condition', and this very awareness and subsequently a real experience of hellish torments, is what must be understood here as a 'taste of death': ’To his foster father Joseph and his sons, Jesus said: "Since I am with you, why do you not ask Me how things will be with the life of the soul once the body has fallen away? I would after all know more about this than you do. Yet I know nothing of any darkness of death continuing almost forever for the soul once the body has fallen away, for at the moment when the heavy body falls away from you, you will already be in resurrection, and live and work on through eternity, that is, if you leave this world as one who is righteous in the eyes of God. If, on the other hand, you die as one who is unrighteous in the eyes of God, then no doubt a very long night will lie between your physical death and your true resurrection - but not one you are unconscious of, but one that the soul is well aware of, and that shall be the death of the soul that indeed continues for a long time. For a death that the soul did not know of would be no death for it; the death, however, which it shall be aware of in the kingdom of unredeemed spirits, will be a great torment to it." 'Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.' John 11:25

'And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?' John 11:26 

The angel of death

I came to know death very early… or relatively early … back then, for the first 7 years of my life, we, my parents and I, used to live in the old house of my grandparents from my Mom’s side… and I can recall quite clearly how night after night I felt that something is there in the room… which later on I named or ‘classified’ as ‘the presence’ or ‘visit of the angel of death’ (after F.M. Dostoyevsky’s explanation)… to wit… I sensed that somebody was in the room whose presence installed in me, or conveyed to me, those very thoughts about death and dying … about passing out from this world (= with my present awareness and knowledge, I am more prone to believe that this ‘presence’ was in fact the presence of some of mine deceased and still earthly minded ancestors, most probably the spirit of my grand grand mother was still ‘hanging around’ of her earthly abode!)…

So, following those experiences, and through them, I early acquired a sense of ephemerality of the human life… and I grow somehow differently from other, ‘less sensitive’ children… at least this was and still is my opinion…

I was so to speak more ‘serious’ about this life and remaining or effective time we have to live in this world …

It is like you are seriously or deadly ill… and you know that in let’s say 3 months you will die… I am sure that your ‘priorities’, i.e. your ‘goals’ and, basically, your whole thinking and feeling would be quite different from those of somebody who is healthy and believes that he will happily live here for many many more years!

That ‘approaching moment’ which will bring the end to my life on this Earth was causing to me a lots of problems and that not just during those early years of mine…

I remember also how I used to think, while alone in the room during the night, in which way I can escape the death … and while observing what is going on around me with the people who are dying … I even started to have ideas about removals of the damaged or ill organs which were, as I was thinking then, the primary cause of death, and implantation of the new ones… you know, like in the case of the damaged car or some other machine!

I believe that I had those ideas prior to receiving any information from the world that something like that is already taking place in and through the practices of the modern medicine! :)

I also remember quite clearly my ‘dreams’ from that time… although we are talking here more about wishful thinking… in which I was imagining myself in the world, or in the condition, where I will be able to live FOREVER!

Of course… as I grew… somehow this whole ‘sensation’ was pushed into the background… but then something happened during my already mentioned stay in Australia (see please another page on this Blog named ‘The miraculous Power of the Divine Word’)… which in fact reminded me very effectively about this ‘early’ fears of mine … namely, I had what now I believe to be a ‘panic/anxiety attack’ (only later on I learned about it, and that while living on Tenerife Island, because one friend of mine have had the same problem at that time… so through this experience of his I learned that there is a medical name or classification for that condition :) )… which was most probably caused by mine abstinence from drugs at that time… i.e., in that period I gave up all intoxicants and I lived my life in a completely healthy manner… and this change, as far as I learned later on, was/could be the cause of it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panic_attack)…

Anyway… we, one friend of mine and I, were in the elevator… and suddenly my heart started to beat wildly… and so quickly that I had a feeling that I will surely collapse… of course, this feeling and accompanying fear of death only enhanced this already ‘serious’ heart-action…

… and although this whole happening lasted no more than a half of the minute… you can easily imagine what was crossing my mind during those very very long seconds… I truly and sincerely thought that this is in fact the end. I was so afraid that I was in total shock…

Now, what is important for ‘us’ here to know is what followed after that… and what followed after that is this, - I had from time to time these heart-rate disturbances… or moments when my heart would simply go ‘mad’… and together with them… the fear that one of those attacks could bring the end to my existence… and that was a quite unpleasant sensation…

… especially because this sensation was so to speak ALWAYS present before me, to wit, not only during those moments when my heart pulsated madly…

I believe that this condition of mine from that period, which lasted in my opinion for some 7 years… could fairly be described as ‘anxious restlessness’ followed by ‘fearful expectation’ of the moment of death… in another words, that condition of mine was diametrically opposite to my present condition… and for that very reason I am able to evaluate the both of them because, as they said, ‘I was there’!

I also believe that it is important for you to know and pay a serious attention to the following, here we are talking about the period after that ‘encounter of mine with Jesus Christ’, i.e. after I came to know about Him, to wit, these 7 years, during which I was most of the time living on the Canary Island,  I already WAS a follower of Jesus Christ… and not just that, I was already a most serious about my life in His service … or my apostleship…

What I want to say here is this, I acquired my present state of affairs GRADUALLY, AND NOT IMMEDIATELLY, it was because I grew in faith and in love for Him and consequently for my brothers and sisters, it was because I purified myself systematically by living my life in accordance with His Word… or His commandments of Love:

‘You are certainly informed of it (= life after death) but you will only accept it as truth when love has kindled a light within you…. Hence you first have to live a life of love…. Then death will not longer scare you, then you will already have the connection with the spiritual kingdom, then so many hands will reach out to you from there which will show you the way until the end of your life… And then you will live every day on Earth as it is My will… Then you will prepare yourselves for a blissful end, and the hour of your passing away from this Earth will be for you the awakening into a life in light and magnificence…. Amen’

In yet another words, there is a great PRACTICAL difference between MEETING Jesus Christ, or ‘knowing about’ Him, and BECOMING LIKE Jesus Christ, or truly KNOWING Him… it is the very same difference that exists between ‘knowing the truth and good toward which we are led by it’ and that ‘very truth implanted in our life’, or ‘our will changed into that good’ (Emanuel Swedenborg spoke beautifully about these two phases of our development, one of them would be our ‘reformation’, and in Word of God is classified as ‘6 days of labour’, and that second one would be our ‘regeneration’, and in the Word of God is classified as our ‘day of rest’, or ‘Sabbath’!)…

… and between these two realities, or points, lies an intermediary space or period covered with much struggle and temptations… with much pain and distress… which are of course most necessary, as I am clearly aware now, because through these we are constantly purified and perfected and so to speak re-moulded into that glorious Image of His which we lost once due to our misguided or wrongly directed free will!

During that time I was already familiar with E.Swedenborg, i.e. I carefully read, studied and contemplated his great works (starting with a year 2000)… and through him, as I grew spiritually, by the act of the Divine Providence I also come across, and was introduced, to another greater than great prophet, namely, Jakob Lorber… and because I fully believed in what was revealed through these mighty seers and servants of our Lord and Father… I was also most serious in applying into my life those truths or Words of His which are present through and through their revelations.

What I am trying to say here through these stories from my life and explanations is that there is no other way to acquire this present blessed and blissful state of mine than through most serious and most active compliance with the revealed will of our Lord and Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ Jehovah. And only when we become most active in accordance with His Word, we are able, through this very activity of love, to awake His Spirit of Love that lies dormant in our soul, and when this Spirit is awakened, we are permeated with It’s strength and light, and it is in and through these that we are (en)able(d) to realize all correlations and of course our own position not just in this present but also in that future world!

‘However, you will acquire this consciousness when you, in living faith, have lived a life of following Jesus (= which means to live a life of unselfish love and self denial!; see please what our Lord and Father revealed through Bertha Dudde in her proclamations nr. 4544, 5927, 3920, 7874 i 8680), because only then will you clearly recognise the purpose of your earthly life and your objective…. because only then will you know of all correlations and also of a free and blissful life in the spiritual realm…. Then your spirit will be awakened, and then you will therefore place little value on earthly life and consciously strive towards the life in the spiritual kingdom, in light and happiness....

In fact, our Lord specifically pointed that our ‘fear of death’ is caused mainly by that very ‘inactivity’ or ‘indolence’ of our soul… through which all our inherent powers or talents are buried in the ground (Matthew 25:25)… and we, as a consequence of that, grow from day to day more and more weak in cognition and realization:

‘Once a soul has been fully reborn and has passed into true life-activity, all sorrow and idle fear of death and destruction is gone. But souls that have not yet reached the right level of inner life-perfection still retain some grief for the passed away loved ones and some fear of their own death, of which they cannot get completely rid while in this world until their soul is within their spirit and the spirit has grown within it.

Look at a thoroughly spoilt child that has not been conditioned from his early days to more and more activity. It will pull a very long face if, after completion of its twelfth year, it has to enter into serious and permanent activity, although this is in keeping with it’s strength. It starts to cry, becomes sad, despondent, also angry and full of rage against those who are beginning to urge it on to permanent work.

On the other hand, look at a child of the same age that has been engaged from it’s earliest days in serious work, in keeping with it’s strength. With what joy and pleasure such a child keeps moving the whole day without getting tired.

Just as an indolent soul always has a great fear of every serious and permanent activity, it also has, stemming from the same source, the fear of death and even fears a more serious illness.

You will have been able to observe occasionally that truly diligent and industrious people have far less fear of dying than those who are lazy but, at the same time, love a good life. And this fear will not leave these souls until they have become engaged in a proper activity (= unselfish love which has for it’s objective our neighbour’s temporal and spiritual welfare!).

Of course, you think this fear is merely caused by the absence of information and knowledge concerning the beyond. But I tell you: By no means. This is only a consequence of the deep-rooted indolence of the soul (and this ‘indolence’ or ‘laziness’ is based on nothing else but self love, or ‘love that doesn’t want to serve but instead to be served by others!). And the soul, secretly suspecting that with the casting off of it’s body it’s further existence will be a highly active one, is disconsolate because of this and develops a kind of fever which then leads to a sort of doubt regarding a future existence.’

I will emphasize this whole line of thought once again: I did not acquire this present state of CLEAR AWARENES and accompanying most blissful calm and joy in the expectation of the hour of death by any act of immediate mercy, but only gradually when, through my love for Him and my unshakeable faith in Him and subsequent most active life in compliance with the revealed truths ('For know that... nobody gets to heaven through would-be pious merits, nor through direct or indirect mercy of the Lord, but solely through His own love of the Lord and the consequent grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is one and only Lord and God of heaven and Earth.' As received from our Lord and Father, Jesus Christ, by His servant the prophet Jakob Lorber, and written down in his 'Bishop Martin - 80:18'), His Spirit within my soul was more and more awakened and through this my soul sphere enlightened and strengthened from within:

‘If truths of doctrine are regarded primarily, or in the first place, they may indeed be known, but not seen interiorly, and loved from spiritual affection, therefore they successively perish; for to see truths from their own light, is to see them from man's interior mind, which is called the spiritual mind, and this mind is opened by charity; and when it is opened, light and the affection of understanding truths flow in out of heaven from the Lord. Thence is enlightenment. The man who is in this enlightenment, acknowledges truths as soon as he reads or hears them; but not he whose spiritual mind is not opened, who is one that is not in the goods of charity, however he may be in the truths of doctrine.’  E.Swedenborg ‘Apocalypse Revealed – 85’

In yet another words, I can testify in all truth that every word of our Lord’s great promise (in regard to our Lord promises to us, which are revealed in His Word, to wit, when and how these will fulfil itself in and for us, please see Bertha Dudde’s proclamation nr. 3744!) as recorded in John 11:25 is literally true and fulfils itself in every one who acts accordingly!

‘And behold, almost the same thing applies where the full and clear awareness of the human soul is concerned. As long as man is without it, the soul in its body, distinguishable from the flesh, is not mature for life. It is still too much and too closely attached to the flesh, unable to feel and perceive much else besides the fate of its body, - and even the best explanations are unable to give the immature soul the inner, completely mature awareness of life [= this is also absolutely true in every and each word, to wit, one of those ‘best explanations’ in regard to our theme would be of course E.Swedenborg’s ‘Heaven and Hell’… I mean, this and other of his books, together with his own life experience, arre indeed undeniable evidences that our life doesn’t stop at the moment of death… that we are talking not about ‘extinction of life’ but only about ‘continuation of the same’ (= see for example ‘Heaven and Hell – 445-452’); now, although I was in the possession of that book for the duration of those first 7 years of my stay on Tenerife island, i.e. although I was ‘hanging around’ him and talking to him, listening and reading about his experiences, my fear of death was not extinguished by that, neither it diminished in any way; only when due to my constantly increased activity in and through the revealed will of the Lord, I become less and less worldly and corporeal, less selfish and materialistic and more and more spiritual, i.e. when His Spirit in me was activated by my love, this clear awareness grew more in me and at the end, I overcome that unpleasant fear of death that was my faithful companion since my early youth!].

Once a soul has, through ITS OWN ACTIVITY IN COMPLIANCE WITH MY TEACHIG, achieved the said maturity of life, it no longer needs any further proof of it. Or do you require proof of being alive in your body? Certainly not, and you would laugh in the face of anyone who attempted to prove to you that you are living and moving and able to be active in all directions. Could any proof, however plausible, given during your sleep, that you are still alive, be of benefit to you, since you could not hear it at all?

Behold, every animal too has a soul, whose essence must also be spiritual-substantial and therefore indestructible, otherwise it could not impart any movement to the animal limbs. Go and explain to an animal about it’s soul and the fact that it lives solely through the soul. Would an animal understand what you told it? Surely just as little as if you had talked to a stone. Why does the animal not understand this and why does it lack the words to tell another creature about it’s feelings.

Behold, an animal souls is of necessity still to deeply buried in it’s flesh and feels almost nothing beyond it’s physical needs. Anyone trying to train an animal in a simple task must, in order to make himself understood, make a great effort to arouse the animal soul in its flesh.

Can you believe that there are people whose souls are not far above the animal souls, indeed, sometimes even obviously surpassed by them (life of any un-spiritual or purely natural human being, can in all truth be compared and is in fact similar to that of animal!; see for example E.Swedenborg’s ‘True Christian Religion – 34, 566’)? Well, it would be an utterly futile undertaking and effort trying to bring such souls already here through words to an inner awareness of life. For such people a blind, silent faith that their souls will live on after physical death and that they must expect either a reward or punishment is sufficient here, so that they will adapt to some law and order, like the ox to its yoke. Everything else must be postponed until another state of life is reached.

An animal’s intelligence can only be roused to a useful activity through some painful discipline. The same applies to an ordinary worldly man whose soul only strives after the gratification of his physical desires and excels an animal soul in almost nothing except the ability to speak.

I have already shown you the reason why men like you up till now have no awareness of the survival of the soul after physical death, and you will have comprehended it. However, the fear of physical death is actually not so much due to the vague awareness of the survival of the soul after the shedding of the body, but rather to the love of the world and to self-love. Through these two kinds of love the soul becomes more and more merged with its flesh, with the result that it must thereby more and more acquire an awareness of the process of dying perishing and ending causing it all kinds of fear and anguish.

Behold, the patriarchs of this earth had no fear of physical death, but often only a longing to be freed of their frail body. Because of their pious conduct in life they had from time to time clairvoyant moments and visions into the beyond, thereby acquiring a clear and true awareness of the soul’s life after the shedding of the body.

But at the present almost all faith of men in God has vanished. Where, then, should men’s clear awareness of the soul’s life after physical death come from?

I tell you: Since the source of all life is almost universally doubted it is nothing extraordinary if also the soul’s survival of physical death is strongly doubted.

Go to the Sadducees and you will find them to be very worldly, selfish people who do not believe in God at all and, therefore, completely deny the immortality of the human soul. They consider anyone a fool who believes in it and tries to prove it through some empty talk, calling it the mad fantasy of a feeble mind.

Furthermore, look at the true cynics, who are disciples of the worldly-wise Greek Diogenes! They are even real enemies of life and curse the power that called them into life without their consent. To be sure, they live a very moral, modest life and scorn every luxury, indeed, even the slightest comfort in life. To them death is the greatest blessing, and after death they do not expect life but a very welcome non-existence.

By contrast, you can nowadays still find people in India who communicate with the souls of dead people as I these were alive and discuss thousands of secrets with them. These people have not the slightest fear of physical death, - on the contrary, a man’s day of death is for them a true day of joy and a child’s birth into the world a true day of mourning.

Behold, this shows the great differences between men where you question is concerned! The things that one people fears greatly, another people believing in different teachings and expectations does not fear in the least. The greatest fear of physical death is held by the Jews, the reason being their great love of the world and their sensuality. Anyone nurturing these as carefully as the Jews must gradually lose all trace of a higher light, for nothing is as detrimental to the true and living light of faith as this very unchastity, lewdness and actual fornication, which for a long time has been much worse amongst the Jews than even with the most ignorant heathens. This sin actually smothers the soul in the morass of the flesh and kills even the flesh itself. If so, from where is such a soul to take the awareness of life, full of light?

(now, what follows until the end of this beautiful explanation fits perfectly into my own life story)

You are a man in whom I am very pleased, and I shall in good time implant the awareness of life in your soul. However, in your early life you, too, have greatly indulged in the sins of the flesh (in relation to this see please also another page on this Blog, namely, ‘The Gospel of Peace - 1’), and behold, this is the reason why, in spite of your very inquiring mind, you have so far not reached a completely true and infallible light. In your present chaste life you will soon attain to more inner life-light and no longer ask as you did now. – Have you now understood Me?’

Says the innkeeper: ‘Oh yes, I have understood You only too well. Yes, indeed, Lord, Your omniscient one, the sins of my youth have consumed much of the vital strength of my soul and now that I am older I am well aware of its absence. The question remains how that can and may be replaced to some degree.’

Says the Lord: ‘As long as man lives on this Earth and is full of a living, earnest will, all this is quite possible, for which David is a living, downright example, for he, too, had committed many sins of the flesh at a time which is not unknown to you. But he took courage at the right time, sinned no longer out of love for God and became, therefore, a man after God’s heart. For truly, I tell you, there is more joy in heaven over a sinner who, recognizing his sins as such, despises them, truly repents, does a true and reasonable penance, betters himself thoroughly and sins no longer, than over 99 just who never needed to do penance. Or does it not hold true among men that a man has more joy over a lost and again found object, however valueless, than over his great treasures that were never lost? Behold, this also applies to God, and if it were not so, truly, you would not have Me as your guest in this your inn!

It is very true that the sins of your youth have done you some harm, both to your flesh and thereby to your soul. Yet since you have recognized this and have completely given up your sin, I have come to your house to give you a complete healing from all your ills (Psalms 25:7, 11).

Wherever I gained entrance, full forgiveness of all sins, light and eternal life itself have gained entrance. I can, therefore, tell you that your household and you have now been greatly blessed, and the results will teach you better than I do now; for now I have merely given you the teaching and the promise, but only in the fulfilment will you perceive the truth in its fullness within (!!!).’

(The Lord): ‘Truly, I tell you: Whoever hears My Word, accepts it as truth and faithfully lives and acts according to it, will henceforth feel nor taste death. Yet he who wants to drag Me along as a good spoil, keeping step with the world, will to the end of his earthly life feel little of the spiritual comfort in life, and only in the beyond will it become clear what predominated in him.

The supreme wisdom wants to guide even the unruly spirits and beings to the good and true and for this purpose has devised the most expedient means which cannot taste like milk and honey to the impenitent sinner, - yet it will always depend on his own will whether they will be changed.

And so it is already here. Everything depend on the earnest will of man (!!!). If he earnestly betters himself and, full of trust, asks God – always in My name – for something that is right and good, it will be given hi in proportion to his true betterment and his faith and trust. You can now be fully satisfied with this My truest promise.

He who ponders well over all this and acts accordingly will be quite happy in every respect and no longer be full of fear and anxiety because of physical death, even had he previously been a great and gross sinner (as I was most surely! = Psalms 79:8) For God, the Father in Heaven, sent Me into this world only for the sake of sinners, not for the sake of the righteous (Matthew 9:12, 13), and like the Father sent Me, I shall send you to the sinners, because only the sick, and not the healthy, need the physican.’

I transcribed here this great line of thought because in and through it everyone can see in which way my own sinful life was transformed through our Father’s great love and mercy, to wit, through my willing acceptance of the same,  into this completely opposite state, and also, what HE HIMSELF must do in order to achieve the same (= Revelation 3:20)!

In another words, nobody can excuse himself because of his deficient condition no matter how great sinner he was or still is, because all means of salvation are available to us all, and that in all time, and it is only our will, which is completely free, that is conclusive are we going to use those benefits for our own betterment and salvation, or not!

My own life example (= see on this Blog another page, ‘The Gospel of Peace - 1’) is indeed a greatest proof and evidence that our Merciful Father descended into this Earth and assumed a human form for the purpose of freeing us from our sins and guilt, and not to judge and condemn us in any way!

In yet another words, Jehovah God assumed Human in Jesus Christ so He can heal us and through that very recovery transform us again into that glorious image into which we were created at the beginning, and finally, re-unite us with Him again (2 Corinthians 5:18, 19)!

This also explains how misguided in their thinking are those who are thinking that my present awareness and perceptions/cognitions are based upon much reading and stored knowledge! Of course, they are not to be blamed, because they cannot but judge from and out of their own limited experience, to wit, only in accordance with their ‘cold intellect’.

No, no, dear friends, it doesn’t work in that way, to wit, this awareness and this ‘blissful contentment’, or ‘spiritual comfort’, is only possible to achieve in the manner described above (and I will never tire of repeating this!), which is as follows:

‘Whoever (1.) hears Lord’s Word, (2.) accepts it as truth and (3.) faitfully lives and acts according to it, will henceforth feel nor taste death.’   John 8:51 + John 11:26

No intellectual calculation, no matter how accurate and deep, can produce that insight and this blissful feeling of peace and joy!

An earthly way of angel beings

I would like to talk now about that very moment when my fear of death was ‘finally’ taken away from me together with it’s unpleasant and dreaded consequences/sensations.

The following narration is taken from my ‘Spiritual Diary – Confessions’ note book where I wrote it down describing that experience of mine under the title ‘The taste of death’:

‘That day I was working my daily 12.30-15.30 h shift as a public relation for one Spanish restaurant. Then, in one moment, while I was walking to and fro along the street… lost in my thoughts of course, I suddenly felt how something pierced my heart, a sensation which was followed by a sharp pain which also quickly passed away. In fact, as somebody would say, this was nothing special, i.e. just a ‘normal’ reflex of the heart’s muscle.

What I find to be worthy of mention is that what was passing through my soul in those seconds, i.e. what was happening in my interiors, because that was for me a completely new experience, an experience which at the same time was a Divine revelation.

Namely, ever since my stay in Australia, where during those (already mentioned) ‘crisis’ I experienced a true and tangible feeling of fear which, as I believed then and ever since, was announcing my inevitable death, I was bathed in a cold sweat every time when my heart action was deviating from it’s normal course, during which those recurring memories from Australia were accompanied with an extremely uncomfortable feeling of helplessness.

In yet another words, for years, and that every time when for this or that reason my heart was bumping faster than usual, I had those very same thoughts about death, and that very same feeling of helplessness, anxiety and panic caused by the presence of the black angel of death.

Now, this ‘intro’ was necessary so this recent situation with my ‘pierced heart’ could be grasped and evaluated in the right way (= placed into the right frame!).

That day, too, after my heart was pierced with that sharp and penetrating pain, death was the first thing that come to my mind, only this time, after 7 years (Deuteronomy 15:12), on my great surprise, the feeling present in my soul, until then utterly unknown, created in my mind one completely another idea/thought, namely, ‘Yes! This is exactly what I desire!’

Suddenly, while comfortably confused, I was overwhelmed with the thoughts of this kind: ‘I would be glad that this, me dying, happened!’… and these thoughts, like a mighty wings, lifted me high above the ground, high above that place and that moment… and my-OLD-self!

Yes, my newly-born-desire was to die, to ‘leave this world’, which was one of the most-fantastisk feelings that I ever experienced in my whole life until this day… a feeling of complete freedom… and also of immediate Divine Presence…

It is hardly necessary to say here that I was deeply moved with this whole new turn of the events, that these thoughts were so strongly impressed upon my soul, to wit, that I couldn’t forget them or erase them from my mind … in fact, I could not think about anything else…

Now, just a few days after that, while sitting on the toilet… with my thoughts likewise somewhere ‘high above’, I was again suddenly permeated with that same feeling and it’s correspondent thoughts… and after I was soaring for awhile through that heavenly state of ‘peace’ and ‘freedom’, another thought flashed through my soul in the shape of irrefutable realization, announcing and introducing at the same time another feeling to me, a thought through which I was informed (to understand better and in all truth this ‘thinking process’, please see my compilation book ‘God, our Heavenly Father, constantly speaks with His children’; it is available at request) that in fact I didn’t want to stay any longer in those heavenly realms, or in that paradisiacal state, because, as I was ‘informed’ in that moment, in that way not many people could have use of me, which is something that I clearly don’t want!

Consequently, that is much better and useful for others if I live my life on these earthly, or ‘lower’ planes of existence, because in that way I will be, and am, in a position which enables me to help more and be of greater service to my fellow fallen human beings.

I was also ‘reminded’ about these words of our dear Apostle:

‘For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain (!). But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor; yet what I shall choose, I know not. For I am in a strait between the two (!!), having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better (!!!); nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you (!!). And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy in faith, that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again.’   Philippians 1:21-26

Next thought that appeared was also very clear, namely, it was given me to know that this very love or concern was the reason which caused my ‘descent’ or incarnation on this Earth!

In another words, through this revelation I was informed about something that I was suspecting already for a long long time, even since my childhood years, namely, that ‘my soul is not from this Earth* (see below ‘Additional text’).’

‘The Light bearers may well sense themselves where they come from, since as humans they receive revelations from Me to help fulfill their mission. They soon recognize the low spiritual level of their fellow men and their hopelessness of ever arriving at the light of truth, unless they receive special help. Since I lead them to the knowledge of the connecting structure of things through the Word, they also know that they come from another sphere to fulfill the mission.’       (As revealed by our Lord and Father Jesus Christ through Bertha Dudde, nr. 8664, November 5, 1963)

After these revealing thoughts, I come back to my senses again, i.e. I found myself again in that very same toilet.’

What followed after that was also quite interesting… so I will continue…

Now, after I finished my ‘business’ in the toilette, I sit down at my table and I wrote down into my lap-top this just mentioned ‘The taste of death’ entry! Then, after let’s say few hours, when this text was finished, I left my apartment for the purpose of visiting the internet point… where, with my thoughts still deeply immersed into this experience, I typed into the Google-search engine a few words from these ‘enlightened messages’ that I received earlier via my thoughts… thinking in fact that I would be led into some of J.Lorber’s already known to me revelations.

I did that because I know and I learned from him that on this Earth there are two types of human souls, those from this Earth, or fallen one’s… and those from another heavenly spheres, un-fallen angels who are coming here for the purpose of a special mission.

Well, I was in-deed surprised to find that there existed another greater prophet of our Lord and Father Jesus Christ, through whom He even more clearly and in more details revealed this fact together with it’s underlying purposes, namely, Bertha Dudde!

In another words, and applied to this very particular situation of mine, that very day, through His Providential arrangements, I met another great messenger of His in whose proclamations I discovered or read whatever earlier that day I was ‘told’ and ‘given to know’ via inner path, or through His Word in the shape of my thoughts (= again, it is my recommendation here that you read that already mentioned compilation book in which this ‘thought process’ is clearly explained!). Here I will present just a few of these revelations in and through which those earlier thoughts of mine were confirmed and further enlightened:

‘Many Light-beings are concerned for your spiritual well being, and many will help you to come to the Light before the end comes... In the realm of Light there is knowledge of the great need on Earth and Light-beings have offered themselves in free will (¡!!) at this time to come down to Earth and as men take on this spiritual mission (¡!!).  (As revealed by our Lord and Father Jesus Christ through Bertha Dudde, nr. 6364, September 25, 1955)

‘At the present there are many beings of light incarnated on Earth, since the great spiritual distress requires extraordinary help, which can only be given by them. Such souls are usually spiritual leaders, i.e. they are in close association with Me because they are living according to My Will, and consequently they can receive My teaching directly and pass it on to their fellowmen. Such beings of light have a degree of maturity that makes it impossible for them to fall. They always go through life most humble and unselfish and are only endeavoring to bring My Kingdom to men, not expecting any benefit for themselves; they only want to serve Me and help other people. Therefore, such a being of light, sent to earth by Me, can incarnate itself several times if this is necessary because of the low spiritual state of men. THE EARTHLY WAY OF ANGEL-BEINGS

To be allowed to go the way over this Earth is also the wish of the not-fallen beings, who indeed live in unimaginable happiness, but could still not obtain the Son ship of GOD, which requires their walk on Earth. This wish of those beings will be granted, but they will go through very difficult circumstances in this life on Earth. They will mostly reach their goal, although they, as human beings, do not know about their origin.

They will be tested frequently and severely which makes their life on Earth extremely difficult, but their souls, because they come from above, are more loving and that is why this people come to understand the purpose of their earthly life sooner and follow their goal with determination, in spite of the extremely difficult circumstances, sickness and various needs. For those beings in the spiritual Kingdom to reach the Son ship of GOD is the highest goal, which however, is only obtainable through overcoming the depth.

Thus particularly in times of spiritual apostasy, such souls are being incarnated to bring a ray of Light into a state of deep darkness in this world. Because wherever man on Earth has a desire to be active in Love, a soft Light shines which is a blessing to the soul. This Light- being always brings a soft shining Light with it to Earth, because the Love is already in that soul and shines as a little flame when it enters into earthly life.

Those people will be more frequently attacked. They must prove themselves and endure their trial of will, which this life on earth requires. The enemy will tempt them in particular because he hopes to cause them to fall, at which he did not succeed before. However, no man is ever left without help. His spiritual friends will support him, when he prays to GOD. A soul from above will never give up his union with ME even though he is free in his will and actions.

So, in times of spiritual indifference, there will again be messengers of Light and Love... people who openly acknowledge God and work for HIM and His Kingdom... people who are filled with His Spirit and proclaim diligently the Divine Redeemer JESUS CHRIST. They make it their life task to lead their fellowmen to the Cross and see the danger in which mankind finds itself. Their Love wants to give, for what reason they can be diligent representatives of JESUS CHRIST.

Especially in times of spiritual need these helpers come down from Above, but have no knowledge of their origin. They even have to prove themselves, they often must live in the most difficult circumstances because of their calling, and may not be influenced by the spiritual realm or coerced to speak, think and act.

But they can expect help at all times when they need it. They will turn to God Whom they acknowledge as Father and Love Him with all their hearts. Therefore, their hearts are always opened for strength from the spiritual kingdom. Reaching their goal is usually assured, and only in danger when they contact low spirits who will pull them down. They do not have to fear a fall back into depths but the danger exists that they will not reach the highest Bliss, although they will keep their former state of blessedness. But they will no longer be that "created" angel being that could only will and act at God's Will. However, it has gone through earthly life and has proven its free will and its direction, so that it can now go into the highest Light- spheres and be indescribably happy.  AMEN

In another words, what was revealed to me through Bertha Dudde, of course in much more details, (special emphasis on those highlighted or underlined parts), is EXACTLY what was revealed to me earlier while sitting on the toilet and after that when I was writing the ‘The taste of Death’!

In yet another words, what is underlined and highlighted here in these messagess is almost up to the word what I wrote by the way of clear inspiration before I went on the internet where I encountered these very Lord’s messages which, as already mentioned, happened a few hours later!

Never before I read something from her or even heard about her!! [What I just said is in agreement with B.D. 1047!, to wit, it is in accordance with the Divine Providence of our Lord and Father, or His pedagogy and ‘schooling’, that we are given ever higher and deeper revelations as our love and wisdom or spiritual awareness is growing within us; if these are given to us earlier, they could not be evaluated or used, because these truths or realities will be for us unreal or non-existent, and consequently of no special value; this is completely clear to me, and it is truly easy to imagine and comprehend this if we only observe what is going on in and during our earthly schooling, to wit, in and during our primary school period our minds are stimulated and so to speak fed with one kind of knowledge; later on, during our high-school years, we are again stimulated with another, higher type of experiences and knowledge; and finally during our college years, our minds are prepared to receive that highest knowledge and life experience; I am absolutelly certain that I was ‘fed’, or ‘led’ and ‘introduced’ from the outside into ever higher and purer Divine Revelations as I was growing spiritually within me, to wit, first E.Swedenborg was sent to me to help me along the way, than J.Lorber and Gottfried Mayerhofer, and finally Bertha Dudde; each of these subsequent revelations are in themselves higher and more perfect than the previous one and, in my own case, they are exact or perfect external manifestation of that internal evolution of my mind, or gradual opening of it’s 3 levels, it’s rational-spiritual level (E. Swedenborg), then spiritual-celestial level (J. Lorber/G.Mayerhofer), and finally celestial-Divine one (B.Dudde)].

‘… The world in which I was living I found to be very strange, people were illogical to me, meaning of their life was different from what I carried in my heart, and that is experience which date from my early childhood. One of my first recollections, or my first awareness, as you may understood it, was ‘awareness of death’ which was given to me during the nights in my early childhood years. I remember that I used to feel the ‘presence’ in the room and than those ‘thoughts and emotions’ were so to speak ‘transferred’ to me, that experience I named ‘Visit of the angel of death’. It is obvious that with that awareness my mind worked differently than the mind of other children, I was so to speak concentrated on another ‘things’. Due to that awareness I developed a great sense of importance of the time we spent on this Earth.

Than in my house (as only child), and that was first ‘influence’ I emitted on the surrounding area, my presence somehow changed my parents, very early they started to listen to me, they found so to speak a peace ‘in’ me … even today that is remarkable fact for me. Their words and behavior in relation to that subject are most significant, because sometimes they used words (just in my case, they don’t use these words normally, they are not part of their vocabulary) as ‘chosen’ (even thought my parents are not religious), as ‘you saved us’ or ‘tell us what we need to do’ etc.

First time when I encountered someone who’s mind works on that level of awareness was many many years ago when in the year 2000 E.Swedenborg come my way. That was the moment in which I felt for the first time ‘normal’, I found echo of my internal states on the paper, and that was truly amazing experience. His books are for me, now already for 6 years, like my own external organ, something which is mine outside of me. I can relate to almost every state he passed as presented in his ‘Dream Diary’, which is very important material because it relates to the period of his greatest change (known as ‘crisis’).

There is one situation I like to tell, namely in that time I was living in one villa above the Croatian capitol, Zagreb. There I lived with a  two friends, with whom I planned to go to Australia (even in my imperfect state as it was then, that house on the hill was a type of already mentioned ‘Spiritual Home’ and it was my second attempt to ‘materialize’ the same idea; another one was in the year 1996-1997). That period was the first period of my conscious realization of what is going on with me. One of these guys was so to speak saved by me (in that time I believed that it was me who saves, who by his own power helps people), he wanted to kill himself, his family was destroyed, all together one ruined life (he was heroin addicted as well).

After a while (by accepting me as guide) he stepped out of everything and he regained his desire to live, moreover he come back to life with a full speed, he recovered his relationship with the mother in Australia (to her he didn’t speak for ages) and with his father in Germany (to him he didn’t speak as well) and  also with his ex wife, and that was a really important because their child (6) already started to manifest effects of emotional  instability due to their divorce and terrible psychological condition of both of them.

But, even though he witnessed all of that (at that time it was more healings around me of course), even though he has clear proofs in the front of him about the ‘worth’ of ‘my mission’, he didn’t believe fully and truly, moreover, he started to be again influenced with his wife who from beginning was suspicious towards me and who claims that I was a charlatan.

Once, during that period, while studying on the upper floor of the villa (that villa has 5 floors, and because of its position on the hill I/we called it ‘Olympus’), I heard that someone is coming. After a while in the front of me appeared my friend, his wife and another guy who was lets say around 30 years old, with a long hair, badly dressed but with a lively and bright eyes. We shook our hands, our eyes met for a second and they continued their lookout of the house (we wanted to rent the same before we leave to Australia, and he was interested). I didn’t know in that moment that (presence of) that guy, who was the ‘greatest’ guru in Croatia (that is how he called himself), who learned his skill in India from some of most famous guru’s (they showed me those lately in the book), was there to test me, they wanted to hear what this ‘most holly’ man will say about me. J

Can you imagine their surprise when that guru, to whom by the way my friend’s wife pays 300 euro’s just to get from him her personal mantra (J ), I mean ‘most respectable guru in that whole area’, said to them confidently: ‘He is the incarnation of some being from another planet!’

Now, that was the first time that I heard from somebody something like that about me, but mind that, ‘heard’, because for a long time, actually from my childhood I had a certain feeling that ‘I am from somewhere else’, despite my family comments about my character(istics) (they couldn’t define likeness in me, I wasn’t, as it is usual, looking as my mother or like my father, or even like my grandparents), simply I didn’t fit, my thoughts, my behaviour was not ‘mundane’, and moreover, as time passed by, I come to realization that I couldn’t acquire my thoughts and my emotions from any of my experiences on this earth, and that was most intriguing for me. From where I get those ideas? Why I am thinking all that what I am thinking? and why I am seeing things other people don’t see?

But even though they cannot see them or cannot understand them, and they act differently than I do, those things are anyway surely true and real, as well as I am, I never get impression that it is me who is on the wrong track, if for no other reason than because I was the only one smiling all the time and feeling good in my ‘shoes’ (that always works J)…’

In the prison cell…

‘Since this conversation I cannot but think of those poor fellows who, like myself, are facing death, but who are buried under the agony of the thought of it. Here am I, on the other hand, with no distress of any kind whatever, and I spend the days with gladness because of Christ's love and mercy. It is indeed terrible to be so distressed on account of the life of the body, and I pity them from the depths of my soul. Oh! that I might see those men and tell them, that they also may receive the love of Christ and be at peace! But I cannot do this, and I can only ask that my two friends when they read what I have written, will understand my desire, and will themselves lead these men to Christ. I would like to share here with you something by which I was deeply moved, something that I find to be extremely illustrative… that is ever since also a great inspiration to me…

July 18.

Today the head chaplain came to my cell and made enquiries about the state of my mind. He knows that I am a believer in Christ, but he still comes once every week or two to talk to me. Being a Buddhist himself, you would naturally think he would talk about Buddhism; but never once has he done so. He has never suggested that it would be well for me to believe in Buddhism. He simply encourages me to believe more deeply in Christianity. Not only that, but he has lent me Christian books to read. I have a very great admi- ration for this chaplain. Now, for the sake of his own cause, an ordinary man would likely speak evil of Christianity, and try to persuade me to study Buddhism, but this chaplain does nothing of the kind. I have a deep respect for him.

During our conversation today he told me that he had been enquiring of the other men condemned to death with what feelings they spend their days. They told him that every morning when the dawn comes they wonder if today will bring the end; and when an official appears they think that he has come to take them out to death. They wait in agony till nine o'clock has passed, and then if no summons comes, they know they have escaped death for one more day. But the next morning brings the same fear with it, and the days pass one by one, in distress and agony.

He then turned to me and said: "For most people the day dawns in happiness; but for these poor fellows who have sinned, the morning brings nothing but fear and despair. I feel so sorry for them. What are your feelings as you face these things?"

"I too am very sorry for these men," I replied, "but I do not feel at all as they do. This I owe to the power of Christ."

"Then do you want to die as soon as possible?" he asked me, but I answered, "No."

"What then do you think about it all?" he asked.

I replied, "During these days I am not giving any thought whatever to the life or death of the body; the problem does not so much as enter my head. I have resolved to accept the will of Heaven, and I have left everything in God's hands. There is not the slightest distress in my mind. When morning breaks I welcome the day with gladness."

"It is well to have your mind so firmly fixed," said the chaplain, "but tell me how you came to have such faith." I told him I had read many books, and he said, "But the various ideals of men enter so largely into books that it is difficult to make them a foundation for faith."

Upon hearing this, I reached out for my New Testament which was near by, and said to him, "But in this book the words of Christ are written, and through them I know that He is here in this very cell. Although I cannot see Him with my outward eye, I talk with Him every day,"

"It is good to have such faith," said the chaplain. "I want you to enter in more and more deeply."*

* The chaplain thoroughly understood Ishii's genuine repentance, but he asked him the following question one day to test him: "Now that you have repented and are no longer the Ishii you were, but are an entirely different person, I am not the only one who would like to see you get another chance. What do you feel about it? Do you want another chance ?"

"No, no! Such a thought has never come to me. I have only one desire now and that is to go to God. I long for that alone both day and night. I ought to accept all the responsibility that comes to me on account of the laws of the land: but God will not forsake me when the times comes, because of Christ's Cross; and although my body will perish, my soul shall enter into the mercy of pardon."

Now, you may ask, ‘What this story or confession of the man who was sentenced to death, and in his prison cell was awaiting for his execution, has to do with me, or our daily life in this world?! That is in-deed a correct question! But let me emphasize one thing after which you will know where I am heading!

It was the custom at that time in Japan, that those who were sentenced to death, WERE NOT INFORMED ABOUT THE DAY WHEN THEIR SENTENCE WILL BE EXECUTED! Consequently, each day for them could be the last one!

I believe that now, knowing this, it would be not to hard for you to imagine this earthly life of ours to be completely in agreement with that of Tokichi Ishii, a murderer and robber, who was sentenced to death and who day after day awaited his execution in Tokyo prison.

In another words, we, too, all of us, are ‘murderers and robbers’, i.e. ‘sinners’ who for at least one part of our life were living in sin and in falsity… and all of us are so to speak ‘sentenced to death’, i.e. it is more than obvious that we will not live forever in this world, that our life can end up the very next day, in this way or another!

It is also quite interesting and elucidative to have a look at the people around you and their relation to this indisputable facts!

It is true, I admit, not all people are aware that their life could end up soon, or in a next few moments, and such a people can indeed be compared with the animals because their present life human awareness is very low, but you also must admit that there are quite a lot of those who are indeed aware that their life could end, who are constantly reminded to that fact through death of their loved ones… or other people who are in their vicinity… and they indeed can be compared to those Ishii’s colleagues who:

‘…wait in agony till nine o'clock has passed, and then if no summons comes, they know they have escaped death for one more day. But the next morning brings the same fear with it, and the days pass one by one, in distress and agony.’

How different is indeed state of mind of those who are re-born through Jesus Christ, who live in Him and in whom He lives… how happy are their days and how peaceful their nights … they are afraid of nothing … and they expect with a joy every other day, no matter what will be their share in it!

It is my sincere hope, then, and my PRAYER, that through this life story of mine, i.e. my transformation, some of those who are still unredeemed and consequently burdened with the fear of death, could be inspired and encouraged to seek and find that great Saviour and Redeemer, and together with Him also that indescribable peace of mind (Philippians 4:7) which is available only in and through Him, i.e. through our faith in Him and through life in accordance with His Word:

‘If man closely follows this new teaching (of Jesus Christ = Mark 12:29-31), his hitherto bound spirit becomes ever freer, grows and, finally, permeates the whole man, thus drawing everything into his life. This life is of God and must, therefore, last forever in the highest possible degree of bliss.

Every man thus reborn in his spirit, as it were, will never see, feel or taste death, and to be separated from his flesh will give him the greatest happiness.

For the spirit of man which is thus at one with his soul can then be likened to a man in a dark prison, who can through a small hole look out into the open country and watch free people enjoy themselves with all sorts of useful activities, while he has to languish in prison. How glad he must be if his jailer opens the door and frees him from his chains, saying: ‘Friend, you are free from further punishment and can now go and enjoy the fullest freedom!

Thus, man’s spirit is like a live chick in the bird’s egg. As soon as it becomes ready through the brooding heat within the hard encasement which holds it captive, it breaks through the cover and forthwith enjoys its free life.

However, this can only be achieved by man if he adheres closely and sincerely to the teaching which is now given to the people by the Saviour of Nazareth.’
